We’re excited to launch our basic specialist profiles right on the heels of our athlete profile release in Alpha 0.1.
Specialists and Our Marketplace#
Our Specialist profiles help you build an online presence and storefront within our marketplace. We want to give coaches and experts the ability to own and run a business, whether you’re guiding athletes remotely or running in-person events. Here are just a few types of specialist we hope to support:
- Video and on-ice/on-field coaches
- Positional coaches
- Mental performance coaches
- Strength & conditioning coaches
- Advisors & mentors
- Nutritionists
- Videographers
- Social media managers
- …and more.
What’s Included#
Our initial launch of Specialist profiles allows you to sign up and set up your basic profile information. While our marketplace and user-to-user sales are not yet ready, we hope that specialists can start testing out the platform, build out their storefront, and be ready as soon as we launch the ability to sell.
Starting today, Specialists can:
- Create and edit a Specialist profile
- Add basic information including a headline, organization/company, and bio
- Share resume highlights from their playing and coaching career, and list their achievements and certifications
- Start creating services
- Add a name and description
- Set a price, define whether or not there is recurring billing, and set a frequency for it
- Set submission requirements for the service. You can require the following:
- Video uploads — and set maximum videos uploaded
- File uploads — set maximum files and define file types
- Form responses — ask questions and require responses from your customer
Next Steps#
Our main priorities now shift to buying/selling services as well as our integrated video editor. The editor not only powers the core of marketplace services with its clipping and feedback tools, but will also provide greater profile capabilities including the ability to feature user-uploaded video.
We’ll also be working on some minor upgrades, too, including enhanced browsing and searching functionality for profiles, featured videos on your About tab, and some additional enhancements behind the scenes.
